Last Friday, we had to take the very difficult but necessary decision to let all 3 of our apprentices go. This was not something we wanted to do in any way shape or form, but was caused by a number of reasons which I will outline in this post. Before I do that though, I would like to state that Lauren, Kyle and Kevin are three of the best employees anybody could wish for. They are all intelligent, reliable and hard working and have added a huge amount to both the business and to our lives personally. None of this is their fault in any way, and their work has been exemplary. If anybody is looking for new staff with their skillsets, PLEASE get in touch and I will pass on your details to them. They would be an asset to any employer and I only wish them good things.
Flosee Ltd has been running very succesfully, and has been consistently growing for some time. However, the pressures of the financial climate have lead to a number of customers reducing their spend, and a number of other customers going out of business leaving their bills unpaid. This is something that every small business is having to contend with at the moment and has been completely unavoidable.
Of the clients we have retained, we have seen an increasing amount leaving bills outstanding for ever increasing amounts of time. Again, many small businesses are having to face this same issue right now.
On top of all of this, we have had to deal with an unprovoked, sustained and vicious attack on our business from an individual which has been ongoing throughout 2011. As a direct result of their actions, we have lost a number of valuable clients and this is the straw that has broken the camel’s back.
The British legal system WILL catch up with this person, and I have every faith that justice will be served upon them. However, it is a very slow process which has meant that our business has been irreversably damaged by the actions of one individual, and three people have lost their income as a direct result.
For the time being, Flosee Ltd will continue trading with just myself and Sacha, and all current commitments will be met by us. We will be doing everything we can to complete projects early and continue to speak to new clients in the hope that we may be able to save these jobs. We hope that by publishing this post our customers will see that we have taken these actions to ensure we can continue to conduct business, and so that we can honour our agreements we have made. To the three employees leaving us, I can only apologise and wish them all the very best in their future careers.
