At Flosee, we take pride in the fact that we aren’t just another SEO company that can rank websites with no idea of what will those ranks will do to the business itself – good bad or indifferent. While sending an increased amount of visitors to your website is the target in every SEO campaign we launch, that increase in traffic is completely worthless if it doesn’t lead to more conversions (sales or enquiries) on your site.
So, what is your keyword conversion? It is very simply a calculation of the number of visitors arriving on a specific keyword as a factor of those who then go on to convert to customers. If you had 1000 visitors arrive on your website after searching for “widgets” and 10 of those visitors contacted you or purchased a widget, then you keyword conversion would be 1%. Most eCommerce websites work on a keyword conversion of around 1 – 2%, but the more specific the search term, the higher that figure will go.
We take the time to learn more about your business, to understand what your best selling products are, which products have the best margins and which have the worst, who the customers are that are likely to spend more money. Only once we have a grasp on how your business profits can we possibly make any claims to help increase those profits. Sending 2 million people to stand outside your shop and look pleased but having none of them actually come into your shop would be incredibly frustrating – it is NO different in the online world – having hordes of visitors to your website but generating no sales is entirely self defeating.
Targetting Using Keyword Conversion
So, firstly we need to look at the words which DO generate business for you, and promote those keywords and/or keyphrases heavily. Ranking 1st for a keyword that is searched 100,000 a month but which generates a 5% keyword conversion (i.e. 1 in 20 visitors will actually spend some money with you) means you should expect around 5000 sales. However, whilst it is nicer for your ego to rank first on a 3 million search per month keyword, if the keyword conversion is less than 0.1%, it would only generate 3000 sales. Bigger is NOT always better when it comes to SEO, it is much better for your business to rank on terms which have the higher keyword conversions as these are the ones which will lead to money in your bank.
Increasing Keyword Conversion
However, if you already HAVE a high rank on a keyword or keyphrase with a very low keyword conversion ratio, then we will work with you to improve the effectiveness of the traffic arriving after those particular searches. We can do this in a number of ways, whether it is by promoting a more specific page for the search term or by modifying the content of the page which ranks well, or by working with you to identify products in your range which are best suited to the particular keyword.
Our job is to assist you whereever possible to build and grow your business, and with us keeping a close eye on your keyword conversions we are able to maximise the return on your SEO spend.
